Diverse Character Wins ‘Artist To Watch’ at 2015 Underground Music Award’s.

New York, NY- “And the 2015, Artist to Watch award goes to….Diverse Character!” The standing room only crowd cheered on the young lyricist as he strolled onto the stage to receive the glamourous award at the 2015 Underground Music Awards (UMA), held at the historic BB Kings, in New York City. Some past UMA winners include, Nicky Minaj, Cory Gunz, J Cole, Freeway, Lil Mama, Styles P, Papoose, and many more –Diverse is now in elite company. Diverse Character understands the significance of being recognized as the Artist to Watch, especially in a competitive genre like hip-hop.

“I am really excited about receiving my first Underground Music Award.  It signifies the acknowledgment of the efforts and endless journey we as artist venture through…personally I feel like this was my biggest and most successful year as an independent artist so far,” the young rapper said.

The Underground Music Award’s, the self-proclaimed “Grammy's for Underground Urban Music”  has provided a platform for artists like Diverse Character to gain recognition by celebrating their innovation and providing exposure to those pushing the bounds of creative excellence in all forms in the entertainment industry.  Former Flip Mode Squad MC, Rah Digga, was the special guest of the evening, receiving an Honoree Impact Award. This capped off an excellent evening.  

Diverse Character (DC), also known as Verse, one of hip-hop’s up and coming prodigies is starting his music career off with a bang. Aside from coming away with an Underground Music Award (UMA) win for the Artist to Watch, Verse has also been featured in XXL Magazine as a “Feature Artist.”  In addition, Verse has collaborated with acts such as Mickey Factz. Factz, one of the best verse for verse rappers in the industry, has worked with high profile artists such as Erykah Badu, Marsha Ambrosius and Drake –this is the ultimate co-sign. Verse is well on his way to becoming one of those high profile names.  He is truly an artist to watch.
